I have this great book ‘Exercises in style’, which I like a lot. It was written by Raymond Queneau, a witty French philosopher, poet and writer. In his book Queneau retells the same event in 99 different literary styles. What a clever idea! And a fabulous inspiration too! I wanted to try out my own sketching exercises in style. So I chose to explore stories behind one view. This is one of my little experiments in the ongoing project of mine, Celebrating 850 years of Maribor with 850 sketches in one year. So go check that blog Sketch my city! for all the entries.

What I had in mind was to use different sketching tools for one view. Here is the first series of 9 sketches, Series 1: Tools. Hope to reach the number 99:) eventually:)
